Your dog suffers from separation anxiety and you’re at the end of your tether!?!

Using an up-to-date, effective training method, I teach people how to help their dogs recover from separation anxiety.

Left untreated, your dog’s separation anxiety will continue to govern your life.

No wonder you feel guilty, desperate and trapped when you try to leave your dog at home.

With the right advice, you and your dog can live the harmonious life together you both deserve.

Look forward to…

…being spontaneous again:

  • popping to the shops for a loaf of bread
  • going out to a restaurant with your partner
  • meeting a friend for a coffee
  • running a few errands
  • just not being tied down!

…a social life without your dog:

  • going to a family gathering
  • going to the gym
  • going to the cinema

…saving money:

  • replacing damaged furniture and articles.
  • on daycare
  • on dog sitters

…saving time and hassle:

  • trying to find a dog sitter
  • looking for a dog walker you trust
  • having to plan absolutely everything in advance

Look forward to… coming home to your dog feeling safe and relaxed, instead of distraught.

I helped my adopted greyhound, Stevie, recover from severe separation anxiety. So I know firsthand what a huge emotional strain you are going through if you too have a dog suffering from it.

I want you to know there is light at the end of this tunnel!

Every day, I help people help their dogs recover from the fear of being left alone at home.

Many of my clients had previously tried things which simply did not work. They were frustrated and felt they were failing their dogs. There is so much contradictory information out there 🙁

Once they made use of my expertise in the field of separation anxiety, they were thrilled to see their dog making progress towards feeling safe alone at home.

How do I know your method will work for my dog?

No behaviour modification programme can guarantee anything of course, as every dog is an individual. However, our success rate is high 🙂 My method, based on the latest scientifically verified knowledge, gives dogs the best possible chance to learn to feel secure when their caretaker is absent.

I employ a tried and tested method, and help people all over the world enable their dogs to feel safe at home.

Can puppies have separation anxiety too?

They certainly can. Separation anxiety can be caused by genetics, so some puppies do come hard-wired for this phobia. This is not surprising, as we humans have bred dogs for thousands of years to want to be with us and share our lives.

I passionately believe that we should treat stay-at-home-alone training for puppies as a priority alongside toilet training for puppies, and am happy to help you get your puppy off to the best possible start.

I have to return to work in two weeks' time. How fast can I resolve this issue?

Supposedly quick fixes advocated by some trainers in the past (such as letting the dog ‘cry it out’ / ‘flooding’) have been thoroughly debunked. We now know how cruel these supposedly quick fixes are and how much psychological, even neurological, damage they can do.

I use the humane method of *gradual exposure*, so you can work at your dog’s pace.

As the name suggests, we progress gradually. However, over time the progress is much more reliable, without the cruel fallout. By establishing your training sessions in your daily routine, your dog will come to experience them as the ‘new normal.’

My motto is: The smaller the baby steps, the faster the progress. I am happy to accompany you on every step of this journey.

Do you come to my house to train?

The vast majority of my consultations are online. There are many advantages to online consultations when it comes to separation related behaviours:

+ assessing your dog without me being in the room is more accurate.

+ my clients and I check in with each other regularly online, so I can tailor the training plans to your dog’s skill set.

+ you do not have to travel to training sessions, and you can have your family or dog sitter present and involved.

I /my partner usually works at home. Is it really worth starting a training programme?

Sadly, it is in the nature of fear issues that, without training, your dog’s sensitisation to the fear of being alone will worsen over time. I passionately believe every dog deserves help to develop the life skills they need to live in our human world without fear. Learning to feel safe at home alone should be a training priority.

If you work from home, you are best placed to incorporate training steps into your everyday routine. No time like the present! Small steps lead to great results!
